A life well-lived is one that is not to be forgotten while doing what your forgotten inner child always dreamed of. Tough to recreate or copy from a mere glance, a fascinating life is one very, very few humans get to live. God forbid this be your fate, so today we’re going to dive into:
1 ) What it means to be interesting
2 ) Why you should be interesting
3 ) How to be interesting
What is Interesting?
Whether you think of James Bond or a Rockstar, the last thing on your mind is boring. An interesting individual above all else is *interesting* all around; from their personality to their hobbies to their story telling to the way their life panned out. It is very similar to having a muscular physique or a 7-figure business; impossible to fake and requiring time & effort on your part. This is good. Very good actually. Because being intriguing is a super fun and life-fulfilling process that you will very much enjoy every second of (unlike lifting or working on a business, which can definitely be tough and stressful at times). This is also good because it means that the barrier-to-entry is much higher as well. So when you do become alluring, you join an elite and very tiny club of the highest level people to exist. People want to be around you, they respect you, they want your attention, they crave to know what your next move is, they want you at their parties/venues, they offer you their resources, hot girls desire you, young kids look up to you.
To be interesting is to be someone many others dreamed to be when they were young, back when their spirits soared high and their aspirations were endless. Before they got bogged down by the trivialities of life, working a job they hate, and the false disposition of ‘old age’. A fascinating person is someone we all dreamed we would become one day.
To be enthralling is to be unique in more ways than one; and the best way to be unique is to have hobbies. Hobbies that define what brings you joy deep in your heart. A man who hates classical music isn’t going to learn how to play piano whereas a man who plays the electric guitar probably loves rock. The things you prefer to do in your spare time say a lot about who you are. Every single hobby you partake in show a piece of your spirit without ever having to expand on it.
An interesting person is one who has multiple pastimes. You don’t have to a professional but if you do them for enough time and with enough passion, it’ll be tough to not become proficient. Now before we dive into a list of hobbies, it’s important to understand who you are as a person and what rings true to your deep inner self. That’s not to dissuade you from trying out something new, not at all. Matter of fact you should try new things because you never know, you might fall in love. This is also a big sign of being interesting. However.
Knowing what you love to do will only ensure you stick to this hobby, and actually become a lot better at it way faster than let’s say a kickboxer taking up knitting. I’m not going to expand on how to get to know yourself on this exact post (I truly believe most people do not and never will know themselves on such a deep and intuitive level); however, I will tell you to think back to when you were young. What made you happy? Was it playing sports with your friends? Bruce Lee movies? Painting? Dancing? Dig deep.
Maybe ask your parents, if you can, about what you enjoyed to do. Maybe they have home movies of you. As we get older, we forget who we were deep to our core as children. Our deepest desires are often time rooted from our childhood wants; therefore, this is research that will benefit you greatly in becoming not only interesting but a self-actualized & fulfilled individual.
Why Be Interesting?
Why does a lion roar in the vast, empty plains? Why do you feel a sudden urge to make love to the sweet art-heaux barista handing you your black Americano? Or the thrill in stomping on a gas pedal as if to feel the cement underneath being ripped through by your tires as your speedometer breaks 120 mph?
Because it is in our nature to do these things. God has given us these feelings and desires as a test to see if we act upon them. The challenge is the desires that take more than just getting up and doing them, however. Such as flying a plane or procuring the funds to race a 911. But that quest of obtaining what needs to be done before you even embark on a journey is what makes you fascinating to begin with, do you see?
Why should you be this man of many hobbies and unique facets? Well, if you were to imagine 100 years later where you and I no longer exist, and all we have are photographic memories, maybe a few articles spread throughout the internet, and word of mouth to carry on who you were to your grandchildren. Now imagine you became somebody that was worthy of having his own Wikipedia page. Now, I’m not saying you must be well-known or a public figure, as you will learn that the Raw Manifesto doesn’t implore its readers to embark on the journey of fame rather the journey of being low-profile (homage MPM). But imagine there were to be a wiki page written on your life story. How you came about, what you’ve done, your professions/way of earning scratch, the girls of your life (and the girls no one knows in your life), the deals you made with notable public figures and aristocrats, the parties you’ve thrown and have been invited to, the things you owned, and what you did that made you such an impeccably riveting man that so many young boys will look up to becoming a glimmer of for just one day. Imagined that? Great. Now what if you became a fraction of this individual? What would become of you? Would you every wake up depressed or somber about your current situation? Would you drag your feet in the mud or be caught up about a girl that broke your heart? Or would you spring out of bed as you value how little time the day offers us? Send a text reminder of the 8 pm reservation at Balthazar to the two Ukrainian model girls you met at the Delancey Nightclub as you skipped the line and dapped up all the bouncers as you always do in your locked down spots. Call your boat guy up, hit up your spearfishing friends, get the coolers ready, hop into your blacked out Benz S63 like you’re batman, only real, head to the piers for a wonderful day of adventure. And live a day in the life of the world’s most exciting man only to be able to do it again the day after that.
How does that sound to you? Does it light a fucking glimmer of hope in you? Does it excite you in the slightest to imagine this possibility? If not then you must be dead inside and while I am not one to give up on people too easily, it is not my job to be your therapist so maybe you’ll come around but until then, good luck you ghoul. As for the real ones who envisioned this vibrantly, you now understand my vision of when I speak of a unique, fascinating man. This isn’t something that can be done tomorrow but hundreds of days of working up to it to one day have it all stacked up like a tower of success, stories, and sex. See?
You should strive to be interesting because once your time is up you will not think back to the money left in your bank account or the litigation of your business underway, rather all the marvelous stories you’ve created, the friendships you’ve formed, the life you’ve lived that only 1 in a million get to live, and even then, you did it better than them. To be interesting is to have the world as you see fit. There are zero rules to this man, he truly has it all. Any desire gets acted upon because he has the skills, network, and resources to do so. The women, the dopamine-sources, the culture, the history, the knowledge, the skills, the people, the food. You have had a slice of every thing the pie of life had to offer. You beat the game and did it with a smile on your face. That is why you should strive to be the interesting man.
